Rodriguez powers Shea past Hope for 30-21 win

January 31, 2014

WARWICK – Lincoln didn’t take the ice for its Division II crossover affair with Pilgrim on Friday night bitter from its first loss of the season, a 2-1 defeat to undefeated longtime rival Cumberland two nights earlier that snapped the Lions’ 35-game unbeaten streak.
Judging by the way the Lions played, you would have thought they had big chips on their shoulders.

The Lions scored six times in the final nine minutes of the first period and never let their foot off the accelerator as they trounced the one-win Patriots, 11-2, in a crossover contest at Thayer Arena.
Senior co-captain Griffin Hevey netted a pair of goals in a span of 53 seconds to highlight that early blitz and help the Lions improve to 12-1, put their loss to the Clippers (11-0) in their rearview mirror, and begin a new win streak.
