BURRILLVILLE- Rita (Landry) Giguere Kapitulik 1945-2014, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, February 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family, after bravely battling a long illness.
Rita was born in Norfolk, Virginia to her cherished parents, Willie Landry and Bernadette (Bernier) Landry.
She was raised in Woonsocket, RI with her large extended family that included many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rita was the wife of the late Eugene J. Giguere, Sr. for 33 years, until his passing in 1995. She then married Robert Kapitulik in 2007, with whom she resided in Harrisville, RI.
Rita also leaves her children: Pastor Gene Giguere of Swansea, Ma; Michael Giguere of Blackstone, Ma, and Donna Giguere Kunz of Greene, RI. Additionally, she leaves her brother, Willie U. Landry, sister-in-law, Lillian (Lozeau) Landry, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, her two daughters-in-law: Mary (Bonnevie) Giguere and Denise (Demers) Giguere and a son-in-law, James Kunz., and her beloved nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members, including close cousins and her in-laws George Giguere and Jeanne (Hebert) Giguere.
Until recently, Rita was a life-long resident of Blackstone, MA. She worked for many years at Boston Scientific in Milford, MA. She enjoyed spending her leisure time with her husband and children and was a completely dedicated mother, and a giving, loving grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who were blessed enough to know her.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at 11 AM in the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham. Calling hours will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 20147 from 9AM to 11AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to; Autism Society of America, 4340 East West Hwy, Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814.
