WHITINSVILLE- Fernande J. "Fern" (Leblond) Carrier, 89, formerly of Pine St. died Sat. Feb. 8 at Knollwood Nursing Center in W. Boylston.
She is survived by a son Claude O. Carrier and his wife Cindy of Uxbridge; a daughter Nancy C. Corkin and her husband Cary of Berlin; 4 grandsons, Stephen Cahill of Greenfield, MA, Jay and Dierdra Cahill of Uxbridge, Christian Carrier of Uxbridge, and Jack Griffin and Angela of Phoenix, AZ; 5 great grandchildren, Sam, Isabel, Noah, Jacob, and Ava Rose; 4 brothers, Bertrand Leblond of St. Hyacinthe, P.Q., Roger Leblond of Beauce, P.Q., Marcel Leblond of St. Damien, and Claude Leblond of LaPocatiere; a sister Paulo Ursini of St. Jean, P.Q. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Antonio "Tony" J. Carrier who died on Nov. 26, 1984 and a sister Gilberte Sampson.
Born in Manchester, NH on Jan. 2, 1925 she was the daughter of Paul and Sarah (Lacroix) Leblond and lived in Linwood before moving to Whitinsville in 1973. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Thurs. Feb. 13 at 11 am in St. Patrick's Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
