NAPLES, FL- Sophie (Sevdagian) Kahaian 85, of Naples, FL, died peacefully, Monday February 10, 2014 at the Frances Georgeson Hospice House in Naples, following an illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Nishan A. "Nish" Kahaian, who died in 1986.
Born July 1, 1928 in Athens, Greece a daughter of the late Bedros and Voski (Bozoglanian) Sevdagian, she was a former resident of Franklin and Woonsocket before moving to Naples in 2005.
She was raised and educated in Greece, and came to the United States in 1961 and worked as an assembler for the former Miller Electric Company in Woonsocket. She became a United States Citizen in 1987.
Sophie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Seth A. Kahaian and his wife Denise Kowalczyk Kahaian of West Warwick, Rhode Island and Angela Kahaian of Naples, Florida, and a sister Alice Tsoulougian of Athens, Greece.
She was the sister of the late Hagop, Hatchik, and Vahan Sevdagian.
Relatives and friend are invited to attend her funeral Monday February 17th, at 9:15am from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, followed by a funeral service in St. John's Episcopal Church 237 Pleasant St. Franklin, at 10AM.
Interment will follow at Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours are Sunday Feb. 16th, from 2-5PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Avow Hospice 1095 Whippoorwill Lane Naples, FL 34105.
