WOONSOCKET- Jeanne C. (Boucher) Guay, 70, of Woonsocket, died Sunday, February 16, 2014 in Sentara General Hospital, Virginia Beach, VA. She was the wife of Denis G. Guay, whom she married November 22, 1962.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of Muriel (Jalbert) Boucher of Woonsocket and the late Omer Boucher.
Jeanne began her 50 year career as a travel agent with Gaulin Travel and in 1983 opened Galaxy Travel, which she owned with her husband until their retirement in 2003. She was a former communicant of St. Joseph's Church and St. Ann's Church in Woonsocket. Jeanne enjoyed traveling, knitting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Besides her husband and mother, she leaves her son, Kevin Guay and his wife Christine of Aurora, CO; two daughters, Kimberly Jasinski and her husband Jeffrey of Virginia Beach, VA and Kristen Goulet and her husband Keith of Dillsburg, PA; two brothers, Roger Boucher of Woonsocket and Omer Boucher of Uxbridge; three sisters, Debra Kuchinski of Sutton, MA, Suzanne LaRouche of Blackstone, MA and Doreen Boucher of Coventry; nine grandchildren, Jenna, Kyana, Kobe, Sarah, Kaelyn, Maxwell, Joshua, Karoline and Kameron; one great grandchild, Kassidae; uncle and aunt, Louis and Jeannette Gobeille of Ayer, MA; and many nephews and nieces.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in All Saints Community Church, 323 Rathbun St. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 PM.
