Louis A. Bastien, Sr.

GLOCESTER- Louis A. Bastien, Sr., 89, of Chepachet, passed away at home Thursday, February 20, 2014. He was the husband of the late Lillian V. (Hawkins) Bastien.
Born in Chepachet, he was a son of the late Joseph and Lillis E. (Ducharme) Bastien.
Mr. Bastien was a carpenter/construction superintendent for the former R.L. Whipple Co. of Worcester for 29 years before retiring in 1986. He was a master sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean War. He was a Past Master and 50 year member of Friendship Lodge #7, F&AM in Chepachet and a member of the Carpenters Union, Local #107.
He was the father of Louis A. Bastien, Jr. and Linda M. Bastien, both of Chepachet; grandfather of Justin Bastien of Worcester and brother of the late Joseph M. Bastien. He is also survived by his foster daughter Susan McDaniel of Cranston and his niece Susan Mabry of VA. His funeral and burial will be private.
