Michael Lapchinski

BURRILLVILLE- Michael Lapchinski, 90, formerly of Woonsocket, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Burrillville. He was the husband of the late Pearl (Holgate) Lapchinski.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Peter and Jawdocha (Proczyk) Lapchinski. Michael graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1938 and later from the RI School of Design.
Mr. Lapchinski worked as an Industrial Engineer for several local companies and retired in 1981 from the former Leviton Cable Electric, Providence. A WWII Army Air Corp Veteran, he was a member of the Slatersville Congregational Church and former member of Globe Congregational, where he had served on its board of trustees.
He is survived by his son, Robert Hughes of Woonsocket. He was the brother of the late Olga Lague and Mary Hallas.
His funeral will be held Friday, November 19, 2010 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with service at 10AM in Slatersville Congregational Church, On the Common, Slatersville. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, No. Smithfield. Calling hours are Thursday from 3 - 7PM.
