Tax pact clears the way to keep business in Burrillville

March 3, 2014

BURRILLVILLE – The Town Council has approved a 10-year tax stabilization agreement for a cashmere fiber products company that is planning to purchase a soon-to-be-built 13,000-square-foot building on Route 102 as its new corporate headquarters and warehouse.

Alashan Cashmere Company President Donald Fox and the Burrillville Industrial Foundation wanted the stabilization agreement for the new facility, which the Burrillville Industrial Foundation will build adjacent to the Kubota tractor dealership building at 846 Broncos Highway.

The facility, to be built and tailored to Alashan Cashmere Company’s specifications, will house the company’s warehouse as well as its administration, customer service, marketing, production management and distribution divisions.

Right now, the company operates out of leased space on Chapel Street in Harrisville. Fox says he is hoping to have the new facility completed and ready for occupancy by December.
