George J. Rasmusson

WOONSOCKET- "Papa" George J. Rasmusson, 78, of 3rd Avenue, Woonsocket, died March 5, 2014 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.
Born in Tewksbury, MA he later moved to Woonsocket, where he lived most his life.
He worked for twenty years as a truck driver for Walt's Trucking, Uxbridge, MA. George was a member of the Lafayett Club and Club Par-X where he loved playing pitch, cribbage and dots.
He is survived by his son, Daniel Rasmusson of Brooklyn, CT; his five daughters, Deborah Grenon of Punta Garda, FL, Sharon O'Hearn and Sherrie Rasmusson both of Woonsocket, Darlene Boisvert of Georgeville, TN and Cindy Rasmusson of Providence; his two sisters, Grace Carter and Barbara Jerome of Massachusetts; his brother, Robert Algeri of Florida; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was brother to the late Pauline Lefebvre.
Calling hours including his funeral service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 5 - 8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
