Mount takes semifinal opener with 5-0 shutout of La Salle at Adelard

WOONSOCKET – Mount St. Charles had captured the previous three league contests against La Salle Academy, though the last one was a mere 3-2 triumph back on Feb. 22.

The Mounties hadn’t lost to the Rams during the regular season, and with standout senior keeper Tyler Walsh out of action entering this best-of-three R.I. Championship Division Tournament semifinal set – he had sustained a concussion during a game against Cranston Co-op last week – there was little reason to believe they would suffer its first.

And it didn’t. Co-head coaches Dave and Bill Belisle’s troops came out firing on all cylinders to lambaste La Salle, 5-0, in the opener at Adelard Arena on Friday night.
