NORTH SMITHFIELD- Ann Fener Nyhan, 93, of 41 Summit Ave, North Smithfield died March 11, 2014 in Waterview Villa, East Providence.
She was born in Bridgeport, CT, the fifth of six children of the late Louis and Lillian Ansell and raised in New York City.
She is survived by Alan Fener of Columbia MD, Janice Saraidarian of Woonsocket, Diane Fener of Brooklyn NY and Ethan Fener of Needham, MA. She is also survived by her former husband, Albert Fener, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fener graduated the University of Rhode Island in 1963 and taught English for more than 20 years at Woonsocket High School.
Her funeral was held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket and the Chevra Kadisha of Congregation B'nai Israel. Memorial contributions in Ann's (Anna's) name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
