NORTH SMITHFIELD- Estelle Y. Lachapelle, 89, of Lincoln, RI, formerly of North Smithfield, passed away March 12, 2014, at the Holiday Retirement Home in Lincoln.
She was the wife of the late Albert Lachapelle.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI, daughter of the late Friderick & Martina Durand.
Estelle worked 30 years for the former Verhulst Comb Works as a pinsetter and then worked for the NEI in Woonsocket for 10 years. She was a member of Holy Family Church where she attended Mass everyday. She was very family oriented and loved to bake and share her creations.
She is survived by two daughters, Denise Czarn and her husband Richard of North Smithfield, and Diane Wallace and her husband William of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ian M. Sateikis, Penelope Edwards, Amanda Miller, and Kristen Wallace, and a sister, Cecile Lebrun of Salida, CO.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lucien, Achille, Raymond, Leo, Mederic, Joseph, Alcide, and Phillippe Durand, and sisters, Donalda Jacques, Annette Turcotte, Rosa Theroux, and Yvonne Dubois.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30am from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Family Church, South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Slatersville. Calling hours will be held prior to the Funeral Mass from 8:30 until 9:30am.
