WRENTHAM, MA- Marcel E. Rondeau, 94, of Wrentham, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Metrowest Medical Center, Framingham, MA with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 67 years of Bernice (Rej) Rondeau.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on February 24, 1920, he was the son of the late Arsene and Mary (Boursier) Rondeau.
Mr. Rondeau was the loving father of Michael Rondeau and his wife, Susan (McDavitt) Rondeau of Stow, MA, Dr. Stephan Rondeau of Lynnfield, MA and Donald Rondeau of Bellingham, MA; and leaves his cherished 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Therese Gareau of Bellingham, MA, Roger Rondeau of Franklin, MA, and the late Arthur Rondeau, Robert Rondeau and Germaine Collamati.
Mr. Rondeau was a resident of Wrentham formerly of Walpole and Franklin where he was raised. He worked as a Farm Manager for Norfolk County Agricultural High School in Walpole for over 22 years until retiring, and previously at the Parmenter Farm in Franklin. Marcel was a member of the FFA and served as Secretary of the New England Hereford Association for many years. He was also a member of 4-H and served as a judge at many New England Fairs. Mr. Rondeau also was a consultant and judge of Hereford and Beef Cattle.
He enjoyed bowling, all sports and was a goalie and together Mr. & Mrs. Rondeau enjoyed Polka Dancing. He was devoted to his family and friends, and will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 18th at 8:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1058 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Monday, March 17th from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marcel E. Rondeau Memorial Fund at the Norfolk County Agricultural High School.
