NO. SMITHFIELD- Brian Sewell, 36, of No. Smithfield, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Hebert Health Nursing Home, Smithfield, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Woonsocket, he was the son of Raymond F. Sewell of Woonsocket and Rita E. (Charette) Sewell of No. Smithfield.
Brian was a 1995 graduate of Woonsocket High School and earned his Associates Degree from Dean College in 2006. He also attended Bryant College and Providence College. He was a cost basis analyst for Fidelity Investments. Brian lived a very active outdoor life, enjoying hiking, kayaking and bicycling. He was an avid Celtics and Patriots fan.
Besides his parents, Brian is survived by his beloved daughter, Gabrielle M. Sewell of Medway, MA; his sister, Sherri Patys of Woonsocket; his stepmother, Cheryl Laplume of Woonsocket; and several uncles, aunts, cousins and many great friends.
His funeral will be held Monday, March 17 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone, MA. Calling hours are Sunday, March 16 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
