PHOENIX, AZ- Blanche J. (Forand) Berard, 92, recently of Huntsville, AR passed away on November 9, 2010 in Phoenix.
Blanche was born on March 16, 1918 in Manville, RI to Emile and Leonie (Rainey) Forand.
She is preceded in death by her husband of seventy-three years Lucien Berard, her daughters Carol Ducharme (formerly of Springdale, AR and Blackstone, MA), Rita Marcouillier (formerly of Phoenix, AZ) and her siblings Rene, Alice, Henry and Albert. She is survived by her brothers, Leo and Eugene, her sister Therese Corbeille, all of Woonsocket, her daughter Jeannette Slack of Phoenix, AZ, granddaughters Joanne (Godin) Audretsch of Bloomington, IN, Christine (Ducharme) Mattos of East Greenwich, RI, Linda Biron and Jocelyn Boothe of Phoenix, AZ and grandsons Bryan Ducharme of Bentonville, AR and Andre Robert of Oostburg, WI.
Blanche was an independent, caring, gregarious person with a feisty personality and keen sense of humor. Blanche was an active member of the Huntsville Senior Center and long involved in activities in her local Catholic Church.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, 63 Church St., Slatersville, RI, under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Flowers are omitted.
