PROVIDENCE – There’s only one way to describe what occurred over the final 3:46 of the final stanza at Brown University on Friday night – surreal.

It seemed as if defending state champion Mount St. Charles Academy was prepared to put the finishing touches on a fantastic 2-1 victory over Hendricken High in the opening tilt of the R.I. Championship Division best-of-three series at Meehan Auditorium on Friday night, but then the unimaginable – the surreal – happened.

In the span of 55 seconds during that 3:46 time frame, the never-say-die Hawks notched three goals (and added an empty-netter for good measure) to post an incredible – or incredibly sad for those on the hill – 5-2 triumph over the Mounties.
