BELLINGHAM- Brenda S. (Wekstein) Goudy, 76, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at home lovingly surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 23, 1937 in Haverhill, MA, daughter to the late Frank and Clara Wekstein, and graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School in 1955.
Brenda formerly lived in Milford and Millis and then retired to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida before returning back to Massachusetts last summer. She was the wife of the late Isaac Goudy.
She will be sadly missed by her children; Michael Parker of Providence, RI, Jeffrey Parker and his wife Debra of Bellingham, Lauren Parker of Millis, and Julie Sutherland and her husband Michael of Bellingham and her cherished grandchildren; Andrew, Wade and Courtney Parker, Hayley Parker, and Taylor and Jacob Sutherland. She is also survived by her sister Rosalyn Case of Royal Oak, Michigan along with nieces and a nephew and her late brother William (Billy) Wekstein.
Brenda, who was fun-loving and full of life; loved traveling near and far, spending time with her family and many dear friends, basking in the sun and ocean, reading a great book, or simply enjoying an all-day trip of shopping and eating. Brenda was a former employee of the MA Department of Correction where she worked as a Corrections Counselor until her retirement. Brenda was adored by all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
A celebration of her life will be held at the First Universalist Society in Franklin meetinghouse, 262 Chestnut St., Franklin, MA on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 10am. Also, in the tradition of Brenda's Jewish faith, Memorial Observance will take place on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 12-2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the home of Julie and Michael Sutherland. All friends and family are invited to stop by.
