UXBRIDGE- Romeo L. "Romy" Hebert, 77, of 15 Bruce St. died Tue. March 25 at home after an illness.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Constance A. "Connie" (Savage) Hebert; a daughter Linda E. Graham of Uxbridge; a son James E. Hebert of Uxbridge; 7 grandchildren Christopher Givner, Stephanie Hebert, Jennifer Givner, Michael Hebert, Timothy Graham, Cory Graham, and Lyndsey Hebert; a great-granddaughter Savannah Givner; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Julien Hebert and Rudolph Hebert.
Born in N. Smithfield, RI on May 22, 1936 he was the son of Theodore and Agnes (Dufresne) Hebert.
Mr. Hebert was a longtime Truck Driver, and was affectionately known as the "Chicken Man". He drove for Birch Hill Poultry in N. Smithfield for 20 years, then for Native Poultry in Worcester for 24 years and finally for Warwick Poultry in Providence for 5 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Uxbridge Progressive Club and the Retired Men's Club of Greendale in Worcester. He also enjoyed coffee with his friends at McDonalds on Park Ave. in Woonsocket. He loved to sit outside in the sun, and take bus trips with his wife. His favorite thing however was spending time at Old Orchard Beach with his family. He was a member of St. Mary's Church.
His funeral will be held Fri. March 28 from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 71 Mendon St. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thurs. March 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to Cancer Care at Milford Hospital, 14 Prospect St. Milford, MA 01757.
