MILLVILLE- Gladys (Hammann) Frost, 87, of Millville, MA died Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford, MA. She was the wife of the late Donald D. Frost.
Born in Blackstone, MA, she was the daughter of the late Harold W. and Mary A. (Goss) Hammann.
Gladys was a service order writer and cashier for Verizon for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Chestnut Street Meeting House and Cemetery Association, the East Blackstone Quaker Meeting House & Cemetery Historical Association, the Telephone Pioneers and the Women's Club and Senior Center in Millville. Gladys was the first female police officer in Millville.
Gladys leaves her son, Donald C. Frost and his wife Kathleen of Millville; her daughter, Donna Dean and her husband Joseph of Millville; two grandsons, Timothy and Jeffrey Dean; and seven great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10 AM in St. Mark Lutheran Church, 871 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket, RI. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Hill Meeting House Cemetery, Millville. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, RI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chestnut Street Meeting House and Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 432, Millville, MA 01529 or to the East Blackstone Quaker Meeting House, c/o Harriet Sharp, 45 Pearl St., Rumford, RI 02916.
