WARWICK- Fontenault, Marcel E., Sr., 82, died April 1, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Linda R. (Paolino) Fontenault and son of the late Aldor and Cecil (Gerard) Fontenault.
Mr. Fontenault was a bus driver for RIPTA, retiring in 1996, and was a volunteer fire fighter with the Nasonville Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years and had served as fire chief for 14 years. Active in Burrillville town politics, he had served on the town council during the 70's and council president in 1970-1972. He had served with the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was the beloved father of Robin Shayer (Michael), Rhonda Fontenault, Renee Jenness (Daniel), Marcel Fontenault, Jr. Lt. WFD (Barbara), Allison Ruchti (Scott), Keith Fontenault, Firefighter WFD (Nicole), Sean Feigo (Roann); brother of Raymond Fontenault, Aldor Fontenault, Gertrude Brissette, Jeanette Richer, Frances Fullam, the late Roger Fontenault and Pauline Lapierre; 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Saturday, April 5, at 9 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm. Information and condolences, visit
