Roland L. Duval

WOONSOCKET- Roland L. Duval, beloved father and grandfather, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 in his home. He was the husband of the late Gloria J. (Ashworth) Duval, to whom he was married for 56 years.
Born in Berkley, RI, he was the son of the late Leo and Bertha (Durand) Duval. He had lived in Woonsocket for the last 50 years.
Roland was a 1943 graduate of Cumberland High School. After graduation, he joined the Army, serving during WWII with the 97th Infantry Division in the European and Pacific Theatres. Roland was a shipping room foreman for the Haskell Manufacturing Company, Pawtucket for 38 years. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan and enjoyed fine dining.
Roland leaves his children, William Duval and his wife Gisele McKenna-Duval and Kathleen Morin and her husband John all of Woonsocket, and his granddaughter, Kristen Duhamel and her husband Ed of Cumberland. He was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine Wainfor.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6-8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Funerals services and burial are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
