NORTH SMITHFIELD- Donna Marie (Lambert) Desrochers, 58, of North Smithfield, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Jean and Maria Christina (Suffoletto) Lambert.
Donna was a bookkeeper for Horace Mann Educational Associates Franklin, MA. An active Rotarian with the Woonsocket Rotary Club, she served as its Autumnfest Chair for several years, co-chaired Project Charities and many other functions, hosted its Summer Outing, was a longtime member of its fundraising committee and served as an officer. Donna had to leave the Woonsocket Rotary Club, but continued her work with the community by becoming a member of the Smithfield Rotary Club, serving as their president. She was the recipient of the Paul Harris Award, given for her many selfless contributions to the Rotary Club. She was a member of the Autumnfest Steering Committee and served as its secretary and was Chairperson of the Grand Marshal Reception.
She is survived by Ronald P. Aubin, companion and best friend with whom she made her home; two daughters, Sara Desrochers and her partner Thomas Martin and Jennifer Desrochers and her partner Joel Rochon; two brothers, Thomas Lambert and his wife Susan and David Lambert and his wife Denise; and two grandchildren, Harper and Benjamin Rochon. She will also be greatly missed by many family and friends who she kept dear to her heart.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
