Ernest L. Jolicoeur, Sr.

NO. SMITHFIELD- Ernest L. "Ernie" Jolicoeur, Sr., 70, of No. Smithfield, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Beverly A. (Reilly) Jolicoeur, whom he married May 21, 1966.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Telesphore and Stella (Aucliar) Jolicoeur.
Ernie was a Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was the owner of North Smithfield Fence for 21 years and had previously worked 26 years for Franklin Fence. Ernie was an active communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, where he was a collector during Masses and volunteered at BINGO. He was an avid fisherman and loved traveling to Aruba.
Besides his wife, he leaves their children, Ernest Jolicoeur, Jr. and his wife Karen of Scituate, Kimberly Lefebvre and her husband Paul of No. Smithfield and Kerry Jolicoeur of No. Smtihfield; four grandchildren, Corey, Megan, Nolan and Nathan; two brothers, Paul Jolicoeur of Maxton, NC and Normand Jolicoeur of Pascoag; four sisters, Clara Marquis of Woonsocket, Janet Richards of Deerfield Beach, FL, Rose Tanzilli of Sarasota, FL and Ann Gleason of Durham, NC; several nephews and nieces; his extremely close friends and extended family; and his wonderful Aruba family. He was predeceased by his brother, Leo Jolicoeur and two sisters, June Morgan and Mary Tessier.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Private burial in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter will be held at a later date. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 No. Main St., Providence, RI 02904, to the VA Medical Center, Voluntary Service, 830 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, RI 02908, or to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
