WOONSOCKET- Antoinette Diane (Manseau) Maurice, 91, of Woonsocket, died Friday, April 11, 2014 in St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Maurice. Born in Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Elphege and Hostorie (Trahan) Manseau.
Mrs. Maurice was a stitcher for Nautical Enterprise, retiring in 1990. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. Maurice was a member of the American Legion Post #62 Women’s Auxiliary, serving as its president in 1962 and 1963. She was treasurer of the Fairmont Manor Residential Association. Mrs. Maurice enjoyed music, sewing and spending time with her family.
She leaves her son, Robert Maurice and is wife Jane of Woonsocket; four daughters, Lorraine Pinette and her husband Ronald of Cumberland, Simone Fontaine and her husband Robert of Lugoff, SC, Susan Lambert and her husband Thomas of North Smithfield and Sharon Swist and her husband Patrick of Warren, RI; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She also is survived by her friend and companion Eugene Pariseau of Woonsocket. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lillian Cortez, and her siblings, Donat and Ovila Manseau, Anita Dolbec and Cecile Gamache.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 with a Mass at Noon in Sacred Heart Church, Second Avenue. Calling hours are omitted. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Her arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 Soouth Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
