Genevieve "Ginny" Clara (Lewicki) Ferris, 82, of Wrentham, passed away at Norwood Hospital on April 16,2014. She was the loving wife of the late Landon "Grem" Ferris, to whom she was married on April 25, 1959.
Born December 22, 1931 in Cumberland, RI, she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Katarzyna (Wilk) Lewicki. Ginny graduated from Wrentham Center School in 1950. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church in Wrentham. She lived and worked on the family farm, Lewicki Dairy Farm for most of her life until the family business ended. She then worked at Sheldonville Nursing Home until retirement. She was an avid gardener and took great pride in the flower beds and harvests from her vegetable garden. She loved nature and the outdoors deriving many hours of pleasure watching the birds and wildlife that surrounded her home. She loved to cook her traditional Polish meals and also enjoyed listening to country music and her Sunday Polkas.
Ginny is survived by her six children; Linda and her husband Brian Flynn of Boudoin, Maine, Landon Ferris and his wife Donna of Bellingham, Daniel Ferris and his wife Barbara of Franklin, David Ferris and his wife Filomena of Plainville, Phillip Ferris and his wife Wendy of Sheldonville, and James Ferris of Wrentham, her grandchildren; Lindsy Certo, Brian and Landon Flynn, Katrina and Ashley Ferris, Michael Ferris, David, John and Peter Ferris and Emily Ferris, and her great grandchildren; Jaiden and Maddox Certo. Also survived by her sister; Statia (Lewicki) Widak of Plainville. She was the sister of the late Thaddeus, Walter, Edward, John, and Stanley Lewicki.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 4-8 PM in the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, RT 1A, Wrentham Center. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 9 AM in St. Mary's Church, 130 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Center. Burial will follow in Wrentham Center Cemetery.
