LINCOLN - Melissa L. (Brodd) Rice, 41, of Lower River Rd., Lincoln and formerly of Millville, MA died April 19, 2014 at home. She was the wife of Glenn S. Rice of Bellingham. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of Charlotte (Russell) Therrien and her husband John of Blackstone and Lee Brodd and his wife Doreen of Rutland, MA.
Melissa received her degree in Nursing from CCRI and was working as a Registered Nurse for The Holiday, Manville. Previously, she worked for the Ballou Home, Woonsocket and Bayberry Commons, Pascoag. She was a movie buff, avid reader, enjoyed needlepoint and loved being a mother.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by two sons, Christopher Rice of Marlboro, MA and Dexter George of Blackstone, a sister, Erika Freiberger and her husband John of No. Smithfield, her maternal grandmother, Annette (Chausse) Russell of Harrisville and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 from 6-8PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10AM in St. Theresa's Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Granite St., Uxbridge, MA. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
