CUMBERLAND- Clementina R. (Lopes) Desrosiers, 87, of North Carolina and previously of Murphy Drive in Cumberland passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2014 at the Gordon Hospice House, Statesville, NC. She was the beloved wife of Pete Desrosiers, and they had been happily married for 36 years. She was previously married to Norberto Coutinho who passed away in 1974.
Born in Guarda, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Rosa (Raposo) Lopes. She resided in Statesville, NC for the past 30 years, previously residing in Cumberland.
Mrs. Desrosiers was a self-employed hairdresser for 55 years, retiring in 2010.
Besides her husband she leaves her three sisters, Fernanda Lopes of Cumberland, Adelaide Menezes of Central Falls and Maria Augusta Antunes of Guarda, Portugal; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Lopes, Joaquim Lopes, Jose Lopes and Ana Goncalves.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 5 to 8 PM.
