LARGO, FL - Paul Henry Thibault, 78, of Largo, Fl., died April 23, 2014 in Largo, FL. He was the husband of Erna (Singer) Thibault, and father of Thomas and his wife Lisa, Ernie and his wife Jini, and Diane (Thibault) Robin and her husband Bill, and grandfather to Adam and Jessica Thibault, Cindi Chebator, and Dana, Mariah, and Elizabeth Robin.
He was the brother of the late Alfred M. Thibault and Normand R. Thibault and is survived by his sisters, Lea E. Heroux, Theresa Y. Bis, Constance L. Archambault, and Claire M. Blanchette.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of Elphege and Eva (Desrosiers) Thibault and lived on E. School Street, Woonsocket RI, until moving to Blackstone, MA in 1944.
Mr. Thibault served his country in the RI Army National Guard for a year in 1953, followed by the USAF for 20 years beginning in 1954. His tours of duty included France, Germany, Georgia, Massachusetts, California, Thailand, Florida, Portugal, Wyoming, and Guam. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his participation in Operation Linebacker during the Vietnam War. He ended his service at Westover AFB, in Springfield, MA, and retired from the military in 1974. He then lived in Blackstone, MA, and worked for US Postal Service in Rhode Island for 15 years prior to retiring and moving to Largo, Florida.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, playing cards, and taking cruises with his wife of 56 years Erna, and with family and friends.
Paul Thibault will be buried at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
