Michael A. Ferragmo

BLACKSTONE - Michael A. Ferragamo 94, of Blackstone, died peacefully Thursday May 29th, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Mildred V. (Altimar) Ferragamo.
Born April 25, 1920 in Boston, a son of the late Carmine and Teresa (Guarino) Ferragamo, he was formerly a resident of Roslindale and Norfolk before moving to Blackstone.
He was raised and educated in Boston, where he was a graduate of Don Bosco Technical High School. Michael was the retired owner and operator of the former Mike’s Radio & TV in Roslindale, for over 40 years.
He was a proud United States Navy Veteran of WWII. He attained the rank of Electricians Mate 3rd Class and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the Philippine Liberation Medal and the American Campaign Medal; he was honorably discharged in May 1946.
Michael was the past president of the Norfolk Community Federal Credit Union was a master wood maker, enjoyed traveling to Italy and treasured time spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, he is survived by his children; Michael C. Ferragamo and his wife Shirley of Foster, RI, Paul J. Ferragamo and his wife Laura of Bellingham and Patricia A. “Trish” Hermans and her husband Howard of Bradenton, FL, a sister Alberta “Nina” Brooks of Pembroke, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Tuesday June 3rd, at 12Noon in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Interment with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Calling hours are Monday from 5-7PM.
