BELLINGHAM - Therese R. (Rondeau) Gareau, 91, of Bellingham, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Milford Regional Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Emile J. Gareau. Born in Woonsocket, RI on December 26, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Arsene and Mary (Bourcier) Rondeau.
She was the loving mother of the late Paulette Zazza and her husband, Alfred Zazza and his wife Nancy of Bellingham, MA, Emile P. Gareau and his wife, Claire Dufresne of Bellingham, MA, Pauline Lekatsas and her husband, Peter of Woonsocket, RI, Therese Barry and her husband, John of Franklin, MA, Arthur Gareau and his wife, Debra of Rehoboth, MA, Maurice Gareau and Diane Begnoche of Bellingham, MA, Marc Gareau and his wife, Denise of Blackstone, MA, Raymond Gareau and Andrea Vail of Coventry, RI. She leaves her cherished 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and her late great-granddaughter, Janessa Rivera. She was the sister of Roger Rondeau of Franklin, MA, and the late Arthur Rondeau, Robert Rondeau, Marcel Rondeau and Germaine Collamati.
Mrs. Gareau has been a longtime resident of Bellingham, formerly of Franklin where she was raised. She was a communicant and member of the Ladies of St. Anne of the former Assumption Church and St. Blaise Church.
She dedicated her life to caring for her family and worked with her husband on their family farm. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Monday, June 9th at 8:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM at St. Blaise Church 1058 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Sunday, June 8th from 4 to 8PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the Little Flower Home, 304 Hooper Street, Tiverton, RI 02878, would be appreciated.
