NORTH SMITHFIELD - Irene B. (Caouette) Lamontagne, 77, of Bellevue Ave., North Smithfield, died June 4, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Henry P. Lamontagne. Born in North Smithfield, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Rose (Cabana) Caouette.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Linda Lamontagne of Glocester, RI and Laura Levesque of No. Smithfield; her brother, Raymond Caouette of Bellingham; her sister, Alice Lafrenaye of Cumberland; and three grandchildren, Alysha, Sarah and Ryan. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Leo and Maurice Caouette; and her sister, Florence (Caouette) Palmari.
Irene was a loving mother and devoted wife to Henry "Bib" for over 55 years. She followed her husband throughout his military career. After his retirement she settled back to her place of birth, her home in North Smithfield. Irene enjoyed cooking and baking and loved to always try out new recipes. She loved her family and friends and would always be known as "smiling Irene". Irene will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her funeral will be held June 11, 2014 at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
