William T. McCarthy

BURRILLVILLE - William T. McCarthy, 73, of Pascoag, RI, passed away June 4, 2014 at the Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pascoag.
He was the loving husband to Marjorie (Worcester) McCarthy.
He was born in Providence, RI son of the late William & Mary (Fitzpatrick) McCarthy.
William worked as a truck driver rigger, for Hallamore Trucking Co. in Smithfield and the former Zavota Bros Co., for many years and was a member of the Local 251 teamsters union. He was a resident of Burrillville for 37 years, previously living in Providence. He was a US Air Force veteran and a member of the Keegan-DinagenVFW Post #1023 in Pascoag.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Colleen Champagne and her husband Daniel of Riverside, RI and Christopher McCarthy of North Smithfield, RI. Also two grandchildren, Kara and Nicholas Champagne both of Riverside,, and three sisters, Ann Barth of Warwick, Jean Butler of Providence and Susan Johnson of North Providence.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur McCarthy.
His funeral will be held Monday at 10am from the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Joseph's Church, Sayles Ave., Pascoag. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Harrisville. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5pm until 8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Activities Department, 14 Rock Ave., Pascoag, RI 02859.
