NORTH SMITHFIELD - Therese L. (St. Onge) Bruyere, 89, of No. Smithfield, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, Friday, June 6, 2014. She was the wife of the late Leo Ballou, who died in 1951 and the late Oscar Bruyere, who died in 1980. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Donalda (Marquis) St. Onge.
She leaves her son, Marc Bruyere and his wife Jo-Anne of Uxbridge, MA; her daughter, Mary Ann Caouette and her husband Marc of No. Smithfield, with whom she lived; her brother, Robert St. Onge of Cumberland; her sister, Pauline Mathewson of No. Smithfield; six grandchildren, Krystin Benson and her husband Scott of Uxbridge, MA, Nicole Murphy and her husband Tim of Auburn, MA, Danielle Bruyere of Uxbridge, MA, Jeremy Caouette of Cumberland and Christopher and Sarah Caouette of No. Smithfield; and two great grandsons, Zachary Almy of Uxbridge, MA and Devon Bruyere of Auburn, MA.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Family Church, 414 So. Main St. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.
