BELLINGHAM - Raymond D. Desmarais, 79, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the beloved husband for 41 years of Theresa J. (Gagne) Desmarais. Born in Woonsocket on May 2, 1935, he was the son of the late Theophile and Clerinda (Laperle) Desmarais.
He was the loving father of Robert Desmarais and his wife, Lisa of Florida, Raymond D. Desmarais, Jr. and his wife, Shay of Bellingham, MA, and Tammy Manning and her companion, Darryll Brown of Bellingham, MA. He leaves his cherished 10 grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was the brother of Oscar Desmarais and his wife, Jeannine of North Smithfield, RI, Leo Desmarais and his wife, Vivian of Mohegan, RI and the late Nornand Desmarais and Theresa Gagne.
A resident of Bellingham for 38 years formerly of Woonsocket where he was raised, and worked as a machinist at Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham, MA for many years. Mr. Desmarais was a United States Army Veteran.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are private under the direction of Cartier's Funeral Home, Bellingham, MA.
