BURRILLVILLE - Kane, Angelina "Angie", 85, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to Earl S. Kane. She was born and raised in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Calogero and Filomena (Cervini) Fazzio, who immigrated from Cannicati, Sicily, Italy in the 1920s. At the age of 16, Angie started working as a seamstress in the Woonsocket mills where she met Earl. In September 1950 they were married in St. Anthony Church, Woonsocket. After several years of marriage they moved to Toledo, Ohio for Earl's work. While in Ohio, Angie volunteered at the local hospital's Ladies Auxiliary taking photos of the newborn babies. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, music, Broadway plays, the R.I. Philharmonic and ice shows.
Angie and Earl loved to travel, they visited Italy, Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest, the Canadian Rockies, Alaska, the national parks of the American southwest, and for their 50th wedding anniversary they visited Kenya and Tanzania with their friends from Ohio. In 1998, she and Earl returned to Rhode Island and settled in Mapleville.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey S. Kane of New York, NY, Laura M. Williams of Brunswick, ME and Karen Kane Jackson of Portland, OR. She was the loving grandmother of Matthew Nidek of Atlanta, GA, Rachel White of Asheville, NC, Steven Williams of Stonington, CT, Lynn Perry of Charlotte, NC and Jack Martin Kane of New York, NY. She was the sister of Diega "Dee" Capuano, Mary Grondines, Salvatore "Sam" Fazzio, Richard "Dickie" Fazzio and the late Vincencina "Jennie" Wright, Frank Fazzio and Charles Fazzio. Angie made friends everywhere she went. She is survived by a huge family of Italian friends from the Woonsocket area as well as her dear friends from Ohio.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11AM in St. Anthony Church, 128 Greene St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Donations in memory of Angie may be made to St. Antoine Residence Development Office, 10 Rhodes Ave., North Smithfield, RI 02896.
