MAPLEVILLE, - Mildred A. (Gaskill) McLaughlin, 69, of Mapleville, RI, passed away at home on Saturday, June 14, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles B. McLaughlin, Sr. Born in Milford, MA on October 1, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Dora (Streeter) Gaskill.
She was the loving mother of Charles B. McLaughlin, Jr. of Mapleville, RI, Timothy B. McLaughlin of Blackstone, MA, Peter M. McLaughlin of Boston, MA, Patrick B. McLaughlin and his wife, Cynthia of Merrimack, NH, Kathleen T. Cabral of Providence, RI, Daniel J. McLaughlin of Boston, MA, and leaves her cherished 12 grandchildren. She was the sister of Richard Gaskill of Kentucky, Susan Nealey and Sally Ricci both of Franklin, MA, Doreen Rankins of Upton, MA and the late Jeanne Miller and Larry Gaskill.
A resident of Mapleville, RI for the past 10 years formerly of North Charleston, SC, Blackstone and Mendon, MA where she was raised. Mildred worked as a home health aide for the Visiting Nurse Association and also did private home care. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church of Blackstone, MA.
She was a devoted Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing bingo and trips to Foxwoods with her sisters. Devoted to her family, she was the best mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery, Gaskill St., Blackstone. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, June 18th from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home.
