Suspect indicted in murder of Woonsocket woman

June 18, 2014

WOONSOCKET – A Providence County grand jury has returned a murder indictment against 45-year-old Brian Audette in the beating death of a woman in the Social neighborhood more than a year ago.
Audette, of no permanent address, allegedly murdered Donna Pike on April 7, 2013, in her apartment above a onetime funeral parlor at 79 Rathbun St.
He has been held at the Adult Correctional Institutions since he was arrested four days after the crime. As a result of the alleged homicide, he is serving a sentence of seven and a half years for violating his probation on a 1999 conviction for armed robbery, according to Amy Kempe, spokeswoman for Attorney General Peter Kilmartin.
He is to be arraigned in Superior Court on the murder charge July 9.
Pike, 57, had a record for prostitution and had lived in Woonsocket only a short time before her death, previously residing in the Providence area.
