NORTH SMITHFIELD - Rita R. (Lemire) Thibault, 87, of Smithfield Rd., No. Smithfield, died June 19, 2014 in St. Antoine Residence, No. Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Roger Thibault and the late Normand Lacroix. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Donalda (Cabana) Lemire.
She worked as a seamstress from her own home for most of her life. Rita also worked for Texas Instruments and Roberts Controls as an etcher and solderer. She was a member of St Joseph's Senior Group, was an avid reader, loved music and above all loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons, Donald Lacroix and his wife Carol of Woonsocket, David Lacroix and his wife Nadine of Bellingham, MA, and Daniel Lacroix and his wife Monique of Woonsocket; her daughter, Christine Lambardo and her husband Anthony of North Smithfield; her brother, James Lemire of North Smithfield; six grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Seth, Sarah, Nicole and Daniel; and six great grandchildren, Nathan, Max, Alyssa, Sophia, Elizabeth and Faye. She was the sister to the late Frederick, Francis, Harold, Raymond, Louis, Joseph and Edmund Lemire; as well as Celia Gaboury and Viola Bourassa.
Her funeral will be held June 24, 2014 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Calling hours are Monday from 4 - 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
