Leo R. Paul
WOONSOCKET - Leo R. Paul, 99, of St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield, RI, formerly of Meadow Rd. and Burnside Ave., Woonsocket, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010 surrounded by the people who loved him.
He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude (Grenon) Paul. Born April 21, 1911 in Woonsocket, he was one of ten children of Calixte and Rosilda (Breault) Paul. He was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket.
Mr. Paul had a successful career in the wool industry beginning as a wool sorter for the Lafayette and advancing to Buyer for mills such as the Argonne Worsted and the French Worsted. He retired after consulting for many years with several textile firms in Boston. He was so highly respected by the mill owners, that in 1953 he spent a full month in France furthering his knowledge of the textile industry.
He is survived by his son, Robert L. Paul and his wife, Ruth, of Hampstead, NH and one granddaughter, Alison Kuenlen, and her husband Erik of Haverhill, MA. He is also survived by two sisters, Rejeanne Malboeuf and Pauline Beauchemin of Woonsocket. He was the brother of the late Raymond, Muriel, Hubert, Normand, Gilberte, Bertrand, and Dr. Gilbert Paul.
Leo will be missed by many since he touched so many lives. He especially will be missed by his nieces and nephews, along with their families, and the many friends he made while at St. Antoine's. Leo was a wonderful teacher and role model. All who knew him knew Leo genuinely cared about them and wished them happiness. "The Boss" will be greatly missed.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, November 23 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at the St. Antoine Residence Chapel, 10 Rhodes Ave., North Smithfield, RI. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours.
