Chamberland named permanent city finance director

WOONSOCKET – It’s official: Former City Controller Christine Chamberland is the city’s finance director.

The Smithfield resident had been serving as acting finance director since mid-April, but Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt announced Chamberland’s permanent appointment on Thursday.

“Christine’s vast experience in finance and her dedicated assistance in the transition of my new administration were key components to my decision,” the mayor said.
