WOONSOCKET - Robert D. Benoit, 67, of Clinton St., died July 5, 2014 in Trinity Health & Rehabilitation Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Jean L. (Lataille) Benoit. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late George and Anita (Gauthier) Benoit.
Robert was a member of the Woonsocket Elks’ Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Jason Benoit and his wife, Sabrina Nelson Benoit of Millbury, MA, a daughter, Lisa Benoit of Woonsocket, four stepsons, Kevin Deschamps of Woonsocket, Kenneth Deschamps of Homosassa, FL, Christopher Lavoie of Worcester, MA and Donald Lavoie of TN, two stepdaughters, Kimberly Whitehead of Oviedo, FL and Kathleen Matson of Bellingham, MA, a brother, Ronald Benoit of Cambridge, ME, twenty-one grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Richard Benoit.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11 AM in All Saints Community Church, 323 Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the RI D.A.V., 1 Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908.
