WOONSOCKET - Rinaldo R. Spinella, 88, of Blue Stone Dr., passed away on July, 16, 2014 in Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Francesca (Pino) Spinella.
Mr. Spinella worked for the former New England Telephone Company, now Verizon in various positions for forty-two years. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He was the husband of Patricia (Collins) Spinella, of Woonsocket whom he married September 7, 1963. Rinaldo was the devoted father of Timothy Spinella and his wife Katherine of Canton, MA, and Elizabeth (Spinella) Izbicki and her husband Thomas of Franklin, MA. He was the loving grandfather of Taylor and Andrew Spinella of Canton, MA; and brother to Carmine Spinella of No. Providence as well as the late Salvatore, Benjamin, Anthony, Frank and Orlando Spinella; and Josephine (Spinella) Barletta and Mary (Spinella) Pina. He leaves several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Saturday July 19, 2014 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Charles Church, 190 No. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone, MA. Calling hours are Friday from 5 - 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
