NORTH SMITHFIELD - Richard F. Dube 69, of Fairview Ave., died Wednesday at UMass Medical Hospital. He was the husband of Suzanne (Messier) Dube. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Sylvio and Edna (Renaud) Dube.
Richard was a Mathematics Supervisor for the Taunton School Department for thirty five years. He also worked as a Professor of Mathematics at RI College starting part time and later full time for a total of twenty years. Richard was an avid golfer and Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing cribbage.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Mark A. Dube of N. Smithfield, and Kevin M. Dube of Middleboro, MA, a daughter, Karen B. Dubois and her husband Marc of N. Smithfield, a brother, Paul Dube of Woonsocket and four grandchildren Danielle and Ryan Dube and Meaghan and Matthew Dubois.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to "The Richard F. Dube Scholarship Fund" for a future educator in his memory would be appreciated.
