WOONSOCKET - Frances J. Laferriere, 91, of Clinton St., died August 18, 2014 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Rodrique and Cecile (Asselin) Laferriere and she was raised by the late Clara (Asselin) Jasmin.
Frances worked fifteen years as a Claims Examiner for the Dept. of Employment Security, retiring in 1985. She previously worked for twenty-eight years as an Examiner for the former Uniroyal, Woonsocket, a former secretary for the United Rubber Workers Union. She was a communicant of All Saints Parish, Woonsocket, a member of St. Joseph's Senior Citizens and a member of the Kennedy Manor Association.
She is survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was the sister of the late George A. Jasmin and Raymond Laferriere.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 25, 2014 at 10 AM in All Saints Community Church, 323 Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haven of Grace, Inc., P.O. Box 224, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
