WOONSOCKET- Geraldine H. (Belanger) Coupe-McKenna, 62, of Woonsocket, died Friday, November 26, 2010 in Roger Williams Hospital. She was the wife of J. Kevin McKenna, Retired Police Commander of the Woonsocket Police Department. Born in Newport, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Belanger and Helen (Hierholcer) Carignan.
Besides her husband, Mrs. McKenna is survived by a son William J. Coupe, Jr. of Millville, MA, four stepsons Michael McKenna of Richmond, VA, Joseph McKenna, Kevin McKenna, Brendan McKenna and all of Woonsocket; two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Gerald Belanger.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the St. Charles Church, 190 No. Main St., Woonsocket. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Rhode Island, 260 West Exchange St., Suite 102B, Providence, RI 02903.
