Aldor J. Girard, Jr.

WOONSOCKET Aldor J. Girard, Jr., 90, of Jillson Ave., died Nov. 27, 2010 at Oakland Grove Health Center. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to Marie Rose (Phaneuf) Girard.
Born April 4, 1920 in Woonsocket, a son of the late Aldor J. Girard, Sr. and Laura (Simon) Girard. He proudly served overseas as a combat veteran in WWII and received a Purple Heart for wounds received in service to his country.
Aldor worked for National Fabric, then Providence Steel for many years before retiring in 1982.
He loved gardening, camping with friends and family, photography, and square dancing. His greatest joy was dancing with his devoted wife Marie, who he never called by name but always referred to as my wife.
Aldor is survived by his wife, Marie; his daughter, Jean Marie Ottavi and her husband Eugene of Florida; his son, Paul Girard and his wife Pauline of Florida; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Ronald Girard, grandfather of the late Timothy Ottavi, brother of the late Walter Girard and the late Alice Racine.
All services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket.
