Gerald G. Archambault

Gerald G. Archambault, 85, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Greenville Skilled Nursing & Health Care with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 48 years of Lorraine (Picard) Archambault. Born in Woonsocket on March 8, 1925, he was the son of the late Louis and Justina (Guilbeault) Archambault. He was the loving father to Dennis C. Arsenault and his wife, Sandra, of Woonsocket, RI, Debra J. Perry and her husband, Richard, of Uxbridge, MA, Karen Leonard and her husband, Ronald, of Barnstable, MA; and his cherished grandchildren, Matthew Arsenault, Meredith Schobel, Brianna and Kyle Perry, and great-grandson Brady Schobel. He was the brother of Lucien and Bernard Archambault both of Woonsocket, RI, Roger Archambault of St. George, UT, the late Lucy Rivet and Yvonne Peloquin.

A lifelong resident of Woonsocket, he spent summers at Bass River in Yarmouth, MA and winters in Port St. Lucie, FL. Gerald was a carpenter for Boston Local #275 for 38 years until retiring in 1987. He was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran having served in the Pacific on the Aircraft Carrier USS Monterey and received the World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic-
Pacific Theatre Medal and the Philippine Liberation Medal. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Vets, loved baseball and enjoyed his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.

Arrangements are private under the direction of Cartier’s Funeral Home, Bellingham, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Gerald Archambault to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
