Cavallo, Florence A. (Chasse) 88, of Cumberland, died Saturday, December 04, 2010 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Rocky J. Cavallo. They were happily married for 63 years. She was a resident of Cumberland for the past 58 years. Florence was the only child of Albert and Leonie (Gladue) Chasse. She was born, raised, and educated in Woonsocket and attended Hill College. For the past 40 years, she was a homemaker. She was previously employed at US Rubber, in the garment industry, and finally in the office of Ann&Hope factory outlet. Until macular degeneration took most of her vision, she enjoyed reading, traveling, and needlework of all kinds. Florence will be remembered as a talented and creative woman. For herself and others, she made beautifully tailored clothes, exquisite handmade quilts, and wonderful sweaters. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. She is survived by her two daughters Catherine and Christine of Cumberland and her son Michael and daughter-in-law, Brenda, of Plymouth, MA and her two grandchildren Alexander and Julia of Plymouth. Visiting hours Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 2-4pm in the O’NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Visiting Nurse Services of Greater Rhode Island (6 Blackstone Place, Suite 515, Lincoln, RI 02865) will be greatly appreciated.
