NORTH SMITHFIELD- Dorothy M. (Coupe) Lavoie, 89, formerly of No. Smithfield passed away Dec. 10, 2010 at the South County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in No. Kingstown.
Loving wife to the late Gerard L. Lavoie.
Born in Woonsocket RI, a daughter of the late Eugene C. & Margaret (McGarrity) Coupe.
Dorothy was a graduate of RI College of Education and taught in the Woonsocket School System for thirty years.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Betty Lavoie of Narragansett and her companion Andrew Lebeau, and a son, Donald Lavoie of Jamestown and his wife Alison. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Page.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home 445 Greenville Rd. No. Smithfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Insight 43 Jefferson Blvd. Warwick RI 02888-6400. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4-7pm.
