BELLINGHAM- Grace C. (Robert) Conte, 87, of Bellingham, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles J. Conte.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on October 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Roland Z. and Florida A. (Briere) Robert.
She was the loving mother of Michael C. Conte and his wife, Ann, of Charlotte, NC, Christine C. Lawton and her husband, John, of Bellingham, MA; and devoted grandmother to her three cherished grandchildren, John Lawton and his wife Lucy, Lisa Fritts and her husband Adam, Daniel Lawton and his wife Brittany, and the light of her life, her great-grandson Matthew Fritts. She was the sister of Romeo A. Robert of Bellingham, MA.
Mrs. Conte was a resident of Bellingham since 1949 formerly of Woonsocket. She was a former Board of Director and member of Council on Aging in Bellingham, an Assistant Group Leader for three years of Friends of Seniors of Bellingham, and editor of their news letter "A Friendly Note" for two years. She was a communicant of the former Assumption Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, December 16, at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI.
